Holi-Day Dip

Holi-Day Dip

When you've got company over to watch the game, a dip can be one of the most satisfying, and simplest, dishes to whip up. This Holi-Day Dip only requires you to step away from the game for a few minutes to get it going. Before long, you'll have a bubbling, creamy dip for everyone to enjoy! Our giardiniera provides a ton of flavor and some great texture to this dip, which we love spreading on fresh bread. If you like some heat, use our hot giardiniera. For a more subdued spiciness, our mild giardiniera is a great choice.

Ingredients

  • 1 8 oz. block of softened cream cheese
  • 1 stick of unsalted butter
  • 1 16 oz. jar of Poppy’s hot or mild giardiniera, strained and oil reserved
  • 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup of shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1 loaf of Italian bread
  • 4 tbsp of softened butter

Directions

1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

2. While your oven is heating up, place the softened block of cream cheese in a small baking dish.

3. Strain the contents of your jar of Poppy’s giardiniera, setting the oil aside to be used later and placing the giardiniera on top of your layer of cream cheese.

4. Top your cream cheese and giardiniera with a hearty layer of shredded mozzarella and parmesan cheeses.

5. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes until the edges of the dip are golden and bubbling.

6. While your dip is in the oven, thinly slice your loaf of Italian bread into pieces that are nicely sized for dipping or spreading.

7. Spread a thin layer of softened butter on top of each slice of bread.

8. Place your bread slices on a baking sheet and drizzle them with the giardiniera oil you set aside earlier.

9. Bake the bread at 350 degrees for 3 to 5 minutes until it's slightly crispy.

10. Serve the Holi-Day Dip warm with your toasted bread for dipping or spreading. Enjoy!
